Heroes

Few days ago I came across a segment on IBN-LIVE called 'Citizen Journalist'. Actually I stumbled on this piece of news:

http://www.ibnlive.com/news/impact-cj-hajabba-gets-the-fruit-of-his-labour/58031-20.html

Here is an illiterate fruit-seller who earns hardly Rs 100 a day and he saved for 12 years to open a school for the poor children of his village.

I followed the segment and came to know of a 75 year old man who owns a small cycle-repair shop in Faizabad in U.P. He makes sure that as many anonymous/unclaimed dead bodies in the region as possible are respectfully buried. Every individual deserves proper last rites and he has made this the mission of his life.

How else would you define 'Humanity'? How else would you define 'Selflessness'?

There are a lot of people silently doing their part and trying to bring about a change, a change for good.

All it takes is to believe and to actually do something about it.

I salute the Heroes of India.

Humanity hasn't disappeared from this world.. its just that some people work for it and they don't want to be in the limelight for what they are doing and for majority of them, charity is just a business to cover up their real cunning attitudes and deeds.
I had a personal experience where there was this candlelight walk for the cause of oppressed women,..
but there were no downtrodden women around, and the organizers were more interested in taking pictures and posing for the press..
True humanity goes unnoticed and
all this fake humanity is glorified by media..
Hats off to those people who are actually working towards the good of the society silently and cnn-ibn for bringing out the true humanitarians hidden away in the society.
nice post :)..

@ Zee

thanks to cnn-ibn.... at least some of them got noticed, and hopefully more people come forward to help.

@ Jo
cent percent agreed. It is not charity if their is any ulterior motive behind it.

Welcome and keep visiting :)

truly inspiring...never came across such a segment b4..its touching to know how unknown ppl in remote areas of the country are contributing their bit towards humanity which gradually accumulates over years of effort to gain such momentum and transcends the limits of society to change it..

hello im frm faizabad .....the man u r talkin abt is really old he itself is a muslim and never ever thinks before performin the last rituals that the dead one was frm which caste and the irony is that he belongs to fzd near ayodhya which is infamous for the burning babri masjid issue and most of the religious riots in the country

@ Lavender
this proves that humanity still exists.

@ Arora
I saw the segment on this great man. These riots are black spots on the face of our country and I seriously hope that someday it will be a thing of past.
